SandwiChic

Schiacciata is a Tuscan bread that paninos in Florence are made on. Whenever someone talks about a panino in Florence the only place anyone talks about is All’antico Vinaio. However, waiting in excessive lines for an average sandwich there isn’t worth it. The spot whipping up the best paninis  in Florence is called SandwiChic. There is a reason I went to this place almost every day. There are usually minimal lines here, and they offer an awesome student deal (6 euro for a panino).

When you walk in you’ll hear the classical music on the speakers, and see the 3 workers behind the counter in white dress shirts with black bow ties and overall straps. The vibe in the place is great.

SandwiChic pumps out amazing schiacciata paninis all day. My personal favorite was the finocchiona with blue cheese and the carmelized onion spread panino. The blue cheese flavor is a perfect pairing to the mild fennel salami, and the sweetness of the spread tops it off. To be honest you really can’t get a bad panino here, everything is fantastic. You can ask for the most popular one, and they’ll give you an amazing panino. Don’t even ask what’s on it, just trust them and they’ll take care of you. Sometimes I’d even go in there and just tell them to “hook me up”, and they never disappointed me.

Takeaway: Best schiacciata paninis in Florence. Don’t wait in the All’antico lines; head over here for lunch. The staff is really friendly and will help you pick out an awesome panino.
