Il Pacchero

Il Pacchero is a seafood and pizza restaurant located directly on the south side of the Arno River, essentially right across the Ponte Vecchio. This is a modern looking restaurant with a clean, sleek interior. With views of the Arno River from your table, the scenery does not disappoint.

As you walk in, the big pizza oven will immediately catch your eye. We had been looking for a place that served decent pizza (had not found one place in the city yet!). Il Pacchero seemed to have good reviews, and we figured we’d give it a try. When we looked at the menu, we noticed that there were many interesting pizza options. I went with a simpler pizza, with tomatoes, mozzarella, and pesto. As typical with Italian style pizzas, the pizzas were artisanal personal style pizzas that weren’t precut. Even though it was a bit of a mess to eat, I enjoyed it. It was the first time I had eaten a good pizza in a long time, so that is part of the reason I liked it so much. In addition to the pizza, we got a glass of the house wine which very good.

Takeaways: My friends and I were itching to find a good pizza somewhere, and Il Pacchero delivered. It was tasty and everyone left satisfied. Il Pacchero also offered great views of the river, and a quiet, relaxing dining experience. It was also nice to get away from the big crowds in the center part of the city, and venture to the other side of the Arno River. Take note that there are a lot of great restaurants to check out in this area that are not super crowded.
